Create a Pastoral-Care Experience That Builds Trust, Belonging & Connection for the People of God
That is what this workshop will teach you to begin building. We’ll focus on the three things pastors need in place to create a pastoral-care experience that strengthens safety, trust, belonging, connection, and retention.
Care for people and make a difference in their lives without ministry consuming you or burning you out.
Build a ministry team that is as invested as you are so you are not carrying the responsibility by yourself.
Create the kind of care experience where people feel genuinely cared for, connected, and have a reason to stay.
I planted and pastored a small community church with my husband for 14 years. I know what it is to love people deeply, carry the weight of their needs, and try to build ministry while still caring for the people God trusted us to serve.
My work did not stop when my years as a pastor ended. I earned my doctorate in Executive Leadership in Mental Health & Human Services, and my dissertation, Exploring Depression in the Black Church, examined the intersection of clergy, the Black church, and mental health. I also hold a master’s degree in Pastoral Counseling and bring more than 16 years of human-services experience to this work.
Today, my research, pastoral experience, and systems work come together around one mission: helping churches establish a new standard of pastoral care—one that strengthens how people experience safety, trust, belonging, connection, and care inside the church.
