Dr. Vanessa R. Brooks
An Educational Self-Assessment

You keep saying you're ready to build.
Something keeps holding you back.

Welcome. I'm Dr. Vanessa R. Brooks.

Many accomplished women of faith spend years believing the barrier is confidence, timing, or strategy — when it's really the inherited beliefs about God, calling, and worthiness quietly shaping their willingness to build.

  • A quick, educational self-reflection — not a diagnosis
  • Takes about 10 minutes
  • Built for women ready to build something of their own

What This Assessment Reveals

This self-assessment helps you reflect on thoughts and behaviors commonly associated with religious scrupulosity — including repeated repentance, fear of offending God, intrusive thoughts, perfectionism, and the need for spiritual certainty.

  • Where uncertainty, fear, or repeated reassurance may be quietly showing up in your spiritual life
  • Which inherited beliefs about God, calling, and worthiness may be shaping your decisions
  • Your highest-rated responses, so you can see exactly where this shows up most for you
  • A personalized reflection, not a generic result

Go Deeper in Affinity

The same beliefs this reveals are often what's kept you from building. Your invitation shows you exactly where to start turning that insight into the business, ministry, or body of work you already know is in you.

"If this assessment helps you recognize beliefs that may have quietly shaped your spiritual life, your confidence, and your relationship with God — those same beliefs may also have quietly shaped your willingness to build your business, put your name on your work, and create the life you know you're capable of building."
Who This Is For

You're an accomplished woman of faith who knows you're ready.

Ready to build a business, ministry, consulting practice, or body of work — but something always seems to hold you back. If that's you, this educational self-assessment was created for you.

Awareness Is Only the Beginning

That's the work we do inside Affinity™ — a private membership for accomplished women of faith who are ready to identify the inherited beliefs that have been quietly influencing their decisions, think more deeply about faith and identity, and transform their God-given wisdom, leadership, and expertise into a business, ministry, movement, or body of work that creates lasting impact.

Every member who completes this assessment will receive a personal invitation to continue that work inside Affinity.

About Dr. Vanessa R. Brooks

Dr. Vanessa R. Brooks spent 14 years in pastoral ministry before stepping into her own work as a leadership scientist and consultant. Her doctoral research examined depression in the Black Church, and her own faith deconstruction journey shaped her understanding of how deeply inherited religious belief can shape confidence, voice, and willingness to build.

She created this assessment because she has walked alongside women who could preach, teach, lead, and counsel everyone else — while quietly believing they weren't allowed to build something of their own.
